Thangka

CLASSIC

Carved Lacquer
Carved lacquer is a traditional Chinese handicraft, also named after Tihong, originated from Han (202 BC – 9 AD, 25–220 AD) and Tang (618 to 906 A.D.) dynasty. It is an intricate oriental craftsmanship including molding, polishing, repainting, abrading, inlaying, gilding etc, which takes amount of time. Therefore, it is usually very pricey. The carved lacquer artifact has always been used as decoration in royal palaces.
